A vintage Tonga stool with a copper top
Hand-carved from a single piece of wood, the Tonga stool is a genuine artifact of the Tonga people of Zimbabwe. Traditionally a status symbol owned by the head of a household, each was carved freehand with its own lines and patterns — light enough to carry, yet striking to behold, and used for rest, work and gatherings.
Topped with hammered copper over an oval seat, it makes a characterful accent or extra perch. As a vintage piece it carries small cracks, scratches and tonal marks from years of use, character we love and wouldn’t change.
Size: 29cm H x 28cm D (oval)
