Terrarium Workshops in London

Since 2016, Ben and Daz — the Botanical Boys — have been teaching Londoners to build their own miniature living worlds. Our terrarium workshops run from our forest-inspired flagship at Coal Drops Yard, a hidden green oasis a few minutes' walk from King's Cross station, where you'll layer soil, moss, stone and foliage into a self-sustaining garden under glass and carry it home the same day.

No experience is needed, and nothing is rushed. Every class begins with the history and quiet science of the terrarium — how these sealed ecosystems water themselves and thrive for years — before our team guides you, plant by plant, through building your own. You'll leave with a living garden, a care guide, and the ongoing support of people who genuinely love this.

Our terrarium classes suit every level. The signature session gives you a larger jar, a generous plant palette and time to make something you're proud of, from £55. Sip & Plant pairs the same hands-on building with a glass from our South African wine and gin bar — our most sociable class, and a favourite for birthdays and date nights. Private, corporate & team-building terrarium workshops

We've hosted terrarium events for 8 to 300 guests, in our studio or at your venue, live or online. Teams from Google, Meta, Deloitte, Clifford Chance, the V&A, Liberty London, Harvey Nichols and Absolut have built terrariums with us. Most classes run around two hours, including the introduction, the building itself and aftercare guidance.

None at all — our classes are designed for complete beginners, and our team guides you through every step.
