A striking cushion made from authentic Showa cloth — a form of Kuba textile from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Each panel is handwoven in raffia cut-pile by Kuba men and embroidered by women, with no visible stitching on the reverse: a mark of real skill.
The bold geometric motifs were historically prized enough to be traded as currency. As a handmade antique textile, every cushion is one of a kind, with small irregularities that are part of its character.
