A beautiful Showa cloth cushion from the Democratic Republic of Congo, made from a traditional Kuba raffia textile. Each cloth is handwoven by Kuba men and embroidered by women, with the reverse finished so neatly that no stitching shows.
The striking geometric design carries deep cultural meaning — cloths like these were once exchanged as currency. As a handmade antique, every cushion is unique, and slight imperfections are to be expected.
