A vintage dark pot with ears, planted with a living Calathea Maroka and Philodendron Red Admiral. The pot is hand-thrown in unglazed earthenware from Shanxi province in China, dating from the 1950s, with the beautiful aged patina of genuine vintage stoneware — a characterful, one-of-a-kind home for a lush pairing of foliage.
The Calathea brings patterned, upright leaves and the Philodendron Red Admiral its deep red-tinged new growth; both are happy in bright, indirect light and like their soil kept lightly moist.
As the pot is unglazed and not water-safe by modern standards, the plants sit in an inner liner to protect the stone.
Size: approx. 40–90cm W × 42–80cm H, including the plants. As this is natural vintage stone and living foliage, size and form will vary.
