A rare hand-carved Tonga stool with carved elephant detail
Hand-carved from a single piece of wood, the Tonga stool is a genuine artifact of the Tonga people of Zimbabwe. Traditionally a status symbol owned by the head of a household, each was carved freehand with its own lines and patterns — light enough to carry, yet striking to behold, and used for rest, work and gatherings.
A very old piece distinguished by a carved elephant feature — a genuine one-of-a-kind. As a vintage piece it carries small cracks, scratches and tonal marks from years of use, character we love and wouldn’t change.
