Vintage Showa Cloth Cushion - 25.2

This cushion is made from genuine Showa cloth — a prized Kuba textile from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Worked in handwoven raffia cut-pile by Kuba men and embroidered by women, the reverse is finished without visible stitching, a sign of remarkable craftsmanship.
Bold, rhythmic geometry gives each cushion its character, and historically these cloths were valuable enough to trade as currency. Handmade and one of a kind, with small natural variations.
