Pygmy Bed - Cameroon \ Congo - 186.2
A hand-carved Pygmy bed from the Congo/Cameroon region, made by the Pygmy peoples of the surrounding rainforest. Carved with simple tools from a single, dense slab of native hardwood, it has a low, elongated form with a smooth, timeworn surface.
Traditionally used as a bed, it works equally well today as a coffee table or a standalone sculptural piece.
Size: L 150cm x W 60cm x H 40cm. Seat height: 26cm.
