A beautiful hand crafted figure made of dark wood in Tanzania, Africa.
Nyamwezi carvers are originally known for their thrones which are designed with circular feet. However their carvers are also well known for their figures carved from dark wood with a shiny finish. This figure is elongated which is a common design and the eyes are made using white beads. The figures have distorted limbs and were originally used in water divination ceremonies. The stick figures are danced in large numbers during harvest ceremonies and believed to promote new beginning and growth.
Note: Due to handmade origin the figures will have slight variations than our main image but are very similar.
