A hand-woven white Buhera basket from Zimbabwe
Hand-woven by women of the Buhera district, on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia, from local river reeds traditionally used to store grain. Each is shaped entirely by hand, so small irregularities in form are part of the character — an organic, sculptural piece for the home.
Painted white, with the natural reed showing through as a striped pattern. A striking floor basket — equally good as a planter surround or a sculptural statement on its own.
