A Benin bronze face from the Edo people of the Benin Kingdom in Nigeria, cast by the traditional lost-wax method so each piece is unique. The features are picked out in finely worked detail across the bronze.
Historically, Benin bronzes signified currency and status, their worth held in both the metal and the casting. A small sculptural piece to stand on a shelf or lean within a grouping.
Size: H 6cm × W 8cm × D 12cm.
