    A rare Asafo flag from Ghana, professionally framed and ready to hang as a finished artwork. Hand-appliquéd by Fante makers, these banners (frankaa) were created for the asafo — the traditional warrior companies — to carry proverbs, rivalries and allegiances in bold figurative cloth.

    We've had this example float-mounted and framed to a high conservation standard, protecting the textile while letting its hand-cut layers and stitching read clearly. The framing turns a collector's object into an immediate, hang-it-today statement piece.
