Malawi Side Table Cane - Natural - L
A handmade Malawi side table in natural cane, woven from rattan strips into intricate patterns along the sides and top. Rather than the glue or nails common in European furniture, the makers secure every strip with traditional knots. Each takes an artisan several days to weave.
As these are bespoke and handmade by several different artisan groups, every piece is slightly individual, and measurements vary a little with the handmade nature. A taller, larger side table — lovely beside a sofa or chair, or as a plant stand.
Size: approx. 53cm diameter × 60cm H.
Care: avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, which can cause dark staining on the rattan. If marks appear, dissolve a little oxalic acid (from most hardware stores) in water and brush over the area to restore it.
