A handcrafted ostrich eggshell heishi necklace, made by the San people of Southern Africa using a technique virtually unchanged for tens of thousands of years. Each bead is broken from the shell by hand, drilled, strung, then ground against a flat stone until smooth and uniform.
Strung on natural fibre or sinew with a hand-tied raffia or cord closure.
Size: H 36cm x W 8cm x D 8cm.
