Malawi Round Woven Matt \ Rug TR25
A large round mat handmade in Blantyre, Malawi, from elephant grass — one of the highest-yielding tropical grasses, grown widely across the region. The grass is easy to grow but labour-intensive to prepare: once harvested it's dried, then boiled to make it supple enough to weave.
The result is a hard-wearing, natural-toned floor mat with real handmade character. As each is woven by hand, every piece is slightly individual.
