    Zulu is the largest tribe in Southern Africa and are renowned for their artistry & craftsmanship.  The many women making these live amongst the rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal and they turn this traditional art to supplement their income.  They work mainly in their homes making the basketry art part of their normal routine allowing them time to raise their children amongst other daily home activities. 

    These baskets are all made by hand so each one is very bespoke, using raw materials in particular Ilala Palm.
