A hand-carved Senufo bed from the Ivory Coast, rooted in the woodworking heritage of the Senufo people of West Africa. Carved from a single solid piece of wood, it rests on short, sturdy legs with a smooth, gently curved surface — a low, robust, earthy form that reflects the Senufo emphasis on simplicity and a connection to the natural world.
Over time the wood has developed a rich, warm patina that adds to its character. Originally made as a bed, it works beautifully today as a bench, coffee table or sculptural centrepiece — a functional object and a striking piece of African artistry, with every curve showing the hand of the maker.
