  • Hehe Iringa stool - 232.6

A hand-carved stool from the Hehe people of the Iringa region of Tanzania. In much of Africa the seat is the most important piece of furniture, a social insignia — each person entitled to a type of seat that reflects their rank. Hehe stools like this are typically three- or four-legged with a simple round, polished top.

Carved from local wood using techniques passed down through generations, each one is unique in its grain and tone. A genuine handmade piece that works as low seating, a side table or a sculptural accent, with the natural marks and patina of age that make it one of a kind.

    Size: approx. 37cm W × 37cm D × 38cm H.
