A hand-carved wooden pot from the Lozi people of the Upper Zambezi region in Zambia, hollowed from a single block of dense hardwood.
The deep, charcoal-stained finish sets off the hand-etched geometric bands that encircle its waist — zigzag and linear motifs that reveal the lighter natural grain beneath, for a striking contrast. Traditionally used as a storage vessel, it works equally well today as a sculptural object. A genuine vintage piece with the natural marks and patina of age that make it one of a kind.
Size: approx. 27cm W × 27cm H. Opening diameter: 13cm.
