A Benin bronze bangle, hand-cast by the lost-wax method in the West African tradition. Bangles and anklets like this were once used across the region as both currency and a mark of status — their value lying in the metal itself and in the richness of their ornamentation — and were forged onto a bride's arm as part of her wedding dowry.
A characterful, collectable piece — beautiful worn, displayed on a stand, or grouped with others.
