Carved by hand from a single piece of wood, this bowl comes from the Turkana of north-west Kenya — a nomadic people celebrated for their woodcarving and metalwork. Light and durable for a life constantly on the move, such bowls were everyday vessels for storing and carrying food.
Natural cracks, marks and signs of age come with its history, and no two pieces are alike.
