Taureg Bowl- Niger (5)


The Tuareg are a nomadic people of Niger and surrounding countries. They are tall, and a Tuareg people can pack an entire household on a camel in two hours. Their skin is blue-black, from the indigo rubbed into cloths wrapped around their faces to keep out the desert sun and sand. The Tuareg are known for their leatherwork, their Jewellery, and their body adornment as well as their
metalwork.

Our bowls are from the artisans making these stunning works of art - a collectors piece for your interior design. 

Each bowl being hand carved have their own unique designs, inlays of leather and copper.  Not all the bowls have copper or other metal inserts - see photos for more details.
