A rare piece: Senufo bird hand carved embellished with brass triangles and cloth. It’s carved from a single piece of wood. The Senufo people believed that the Hornbill bird was one of the first living creatures and symbolises intelligence and vast knowledge.
Across a few Senufo villages these sculptures protect the members by standing guard. Initiations such as funeral rituals they are carried in the procession and occasionally worn on the head as a show of strength.
This piece is adorned with stunning brass and fabric fascade.
