Bambara Chiwara Horse (Mali)

These Bamara Chiwara carving is identified as a male and originates from the Bambara tribe in Mali. Chiwara, also spelled Chi wara or Tyiwara, antelope figure of the Bambara (Bamana) people of Mali that represents the spirit that taught humans the fundamentals of agriculture. The Bamana people honour Chiwara through art and dance.
