Benin Leopard sculpture - Bronze Large


Benin animals, and bronze objects, were used in West Africa as a form of currency and thus status. Their value lies in both the metal used and the ornamentation created on the sculpture.

Benin animals are made using the lost-wax method of casting.

Sizes are slightly different to each other average for each of our stock :  11-20cmH x 21-25cmL

Object:-  Leopard- created by Edo people from the Benin Kingdom of Nigeria.  A symbol of Royal Power.
