A Yoruba royal beaded chair from West Africa, worked in a striking geometric pattern of black and white beads. Each one takes around three months to make, embellished with hundreds of thousands of glass beads, and was traditionally reserved for the kings and queens of the Yoruba people. The designs and symbols speak of wealth, power, strength and wisdom — more a work of art than a piece of furniture.
