A large vintage storage jar, hand-thrown in unglazed earthenware in rural China. Once used for storing grain or water, its rugged surface carries the marks of the village kiln and the aged patina of genuine vintage stoneware — a handsome floor piece that settles as easily into a modern interior as a traditional one.
As a handmade vintage piece, it shows the subtle variations and signs of age that make it one of a kind — striking as a statement planter or simply standing as a sculptural object.
Because the clay is unglazed, it's best kept away from direct contact with water; when planting, use a plant liner or inner container to guard against seepage.
Size: approx. 66cm H × 54cm W. Opening diameter: 26cm.
