A traditional Umuvure barrel from Rwanda, hand-carved from a single section of timber. Vessels like this were used to ferment urwagwa, the local banana beer — an everyday object at the centre of community brewing and gatherings.
Old metal repairs are left visible and add to its character. A long, striking sculptural piece now, equally at home as a floor vessel, a trough-style planter, or a statement object.
