    Dogon Ladder

Notify me when this product is available:

Dogon ladders originate from the Dogon people of the Bandiagara Escarpment region of Mali. The ladders are hand carved out of tree trunks, many of them dating back to the beginning of the 19 th century. They were used to climb to the second storey of the flat-roofed, double-storey house. This carved ladder, with its warm patina, has been prominently presented upright, as it would have been during its use, upon a custom square-shaped iron base.

This Dogon ladder is 120 - 150 years old.
